Ryan Gordon

- Location:
- Dundee
- Education:
- Graham Street Art College, Duncan of Jordanstone, College of Art & Design
- Style:
- The main subject matter within my work is very figurative and meticulous in style. I aspire to create very striking and detailed works using both graphite pencil and graphite powder to create my desired effect.
- Media:
- I use Graphite, producing very monochromatic work. I like to work in all scale, having worked from very small drawings up to my largest drawing of 4ft by 6ft in size.
- Favourite Artist:
- Early Hollywood Glamour photography has been a great inspiration to me. Photographers such as George Hurrell, Irving Penn and Edward Steichen
In studying graphite further I have found very little artists that actually just produce their work in this medium. I also use brushes to blend the graphite to produce a further subtle and authentic look. I wish to continue drawing and to exhibit my work in many galleries around the country, showing the public how a drawing can be just as powerful as a painting.
Ryan's work is really stunning, big bold and beautiful. The drawings really stand out from the crowd, and being my personal favorite at the degree shows this year, we are proud to have Ryan on board.
